The next gen xbox might follow in the footsteps of the Wii U and offer a touchscreen tablet controller, according to a rumor from the most recent issue of Xbox World Magazine.
Microsoft is reportedly experementing with a "tablet like touch-screen controller simillar to Sony's PS Vita in design".The magazine reports that in addition to the HD screen with touchscreen controls the controller includes traditional xbox 360 buttons and sticks.I'm sure your wondering what this could really be used for, the magazine reports that , "It could be a remote control when you're watching TV, a browser when you're on the Internet, extra buttons and information when you're playing a game, or a portable display when you want to take your game with you." Its safe to assume that the touchscreen will drive the price of the new console up, and possibly over the $500 range, yay my favorite thing to hear.I personally don't think too highly of the idea i mean imagine playing call of duty or gears of war and your fingers on the "joystick" and oops your finger slides on the screen and your dead. I think its going to be ignored by most people if they do put it out, and will just be a fun way of driving the price up greatly.Let me know what you guys think of the whole tablet display in the comments.
